Ateeq Anzar is an eminent poet of Urdu .He has been working in Doha , Qatar for more than three decades and during this period he has earned a good name and place  for himself as a poet of ghazal and Nazm ( long poems)  and achieved great honour and recognition in the literary circle. Apart from his ghazals and nazms, he has written many articles on different literary topics. His ghazals are unique in terms of diction,themes and styles . He has very successfully depicted the simplicity of rural life with its natural beauty and aroma. Urdu ghazals primarily deal with the sensuous topic of love and beloved's attire, and look but modern ghazals are no more  confined merely to sensuous aestheticism  but it took in  its larger canvas the entire universe with all its diversity.  Ateeq Anzar' s ghazal is modern in all its approach and style. His first anthology of poetry was published as long back as 1994 under the title of  "pahchan" and it  received overwhelming appreciations  and acclaim from all quarters. Question arises as to Why he has taken such a longer period of time in bringing his second collection, the answer lies  in his creative process of  poetic expressions. The poet of  "Duusra jism" is quite different from his previous versions.  His style , his approach to  look at things and his style of  poetic deliberations underwent a lot of reforms to reach a point where he can stand alone . In particular, his Nazms are undoubtedly the best of the lot . His style of writing a nazm places him very high among  the contemporary poets on account of his mastery over this form of poetry.  He deals with his plot very  meticulously, carefully and artistically and while developing the plot he keeps his reader and audience spell-bound through his metaphoric expressions and the poem reaches its climax with a mesmerising effect.  The core  subject of the poem never goes beyond the grip rather it goes parallel with the whole process.  "Duusra jism" has many such  mesmerising nazms.
Ateeq Anzar comes from a small village in Varanasi district of state of Uttar Pardesh, India and for last 30 years he is in Doha . Apart from his job, he  has tirelessly been  putting all his efforts to promote urdu language and literature here in Doha in particular and In the gulf region in general.  As a founder president of karwan-e- urdu Qatar he has organised many international Mushaira and award giving ceremonies to distinguish poets and literary personalities. He has also participated and contributed to many international Mushairas, seminars and symposiums.
