About the book:
Though small in size, it raises a very important aspect of Muslim thinking. It stresses on the universality of the revealed message with respect to the time and space. It calls the Muslim thinkers and theologians to ponder on the divine message directly. Having said so, it criticizes the behavior of the thinkers who give as much important to the human explanations of the sources as should be given to the sources themselves. It calls for focusing on the sources i.e. the Quran and the Sunnah as they are for valid for all time and space.
The other important aspect on which this book stresses is that applying any religious ruling to any person or society must take into account that the subject is qualified for the same. Hence it is as much important to recognize the time and space of the application of the sharia rulings.

Dr. Umer Ubaid Hasanah is very prominent thinker, writer, journalist and well versed scholar of the Islamic, Arabic and Western thoughts.  He is director of the Islamic research center in Qatar. He has extensively written on number of topics from the Islamic perspective.
