Syed Bilal Hasani Nadwi hails from a well-known religious and scholastic family of Indian subcontinent, he is the grandson of Dr. Syed Abdul Ali Hasani Nadwi, the elder brother of Maulana Abul Hasan Hasani Nadwi.

He graduated from Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema, Lucknow after completing the courses of Aalimiyat in 1988 and Fazeelat in 1990. He also learned the Arabic language and literature, Qur'anic studies and allied sciences from his father (late) Maulana Syed Mohammad Hasani Nadwi, founder editor of Arabic monthly "Al Baes al Islami - البعث الإسلامي" and Urdu fortnightly "Tameer e Hayat" published from Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema, Lucknow.
